STANFORD UNIVERSITY, Palo Alto, California

Stanford University: commissioned to create four large-scale diptych and triptych fresco collages for the lobbies of four graduate school residential halls. The works, which were custom-designed using hundreds of photos taken by me at the Stanford campus, and printed on canvas, for ease of maintenance and safety, include Open Book (72”x72”), Hands of Connection (72”x72”), Shapes of Wisdom (84”x60”, and The Mystery of Knowledge (84”x60”).

HOTEL BABUINO, 35, Rome, Italy

Hotel Babuino 35; commissioned to create a 26’ long collage for its entrance, designed to bring Rome to life and highlight the local culture. The finished work included 325 fresco photographs of the city, printed on fine art paper with an aluminum backing and protective coat, and embedded in the wall for structural stability. Twelve additional large-scale fresco images were installed in the hotel’s lounges and suites.

“Along the design phase of each of the four boutique hotels near the Spanish Steps, the idea was to bring Rome inside each of the uniqe environments. Diane was able to collaborate beautifully by interpreting and expressing our vision of the overall look and feel of each interior, reflecting the mood and ambiance we desired.”

Hotel Babuino 181, Commissioned to create 75 photographs, including frescoes for lobby, lounge and 16 suites (65″ x 43″ each). In addition, sepia-toned architectural detail images printed on Hahnemühle fine art paper throughout the hotel, as well as a large-scale diptych for the penthouse bar/ dining area. Acquired for permanent display.

Hotel Mario de Fiori, 37, commissioned to create a large-scale fresco image for the lobby and 6 fresco images (43’H X 65″W each) of architectural sights in the neighborhood, printed on Hahnemühle fine art paper and framed for the lobby, suites and lounge.

SONOMA WINE COUNTRY ESTATE, Sonoma, California

Private Client: Commissioned a sliding glass door featuring photographs of their country estate. Multiple images were superimposed to bring a new vision of the landscape, bringing the outdoors inside. The finale fresco image was imbedded into a three dimensional sliding glass door. Special lighting was installed to enhance the luminous, healing effect of a circadium rhythm.

Private Collector. Alongside the prominent collection of world-class photographers, including Henri Cartier-Bresson, Edward Weston and Ansel Adams, the Dorskind family collection has purchased 2 biophilic fresco photographs by Diane Epstein at 24 x 36″ entitled: Immersed (Female Torso in Water) and Natural Shape (Derrier) | June 2017
